Each year the Soulful Storytellers community gathers to celebrate the filmmakers who have completed their storytelling journey through the SSBV pathways.
The Film Festival brings these films together in a shared moment of reflection and celebration. It honours the dedication, patience, and creative growth required to document deeply personal birth stories with care and artistry.
For many filmmakers, the festival marks the completion of their storytelling project and the beginning of a new chapter in their creative work.
Many of the storytellers featured here began their journey as photographers exploring motion for the first time. Through the Soulful Storytellers learning pathways they developed the technical and creative skills required to craft immersive documentary birth films.
The festival offers a glimpse into what becomes possible when filmmakers commit to developing their storytelling craft with intention.

Soulful Storytellers offers both community critique opportunities and private mentorship sessions where filmmakers can explore storytelling structure, editing decisions, pacing, sound design, and the subtle creative choices that elevate documentary storytelling.
